Installing E-Z Schedule Version 2
  1. Download the installer (Click Here) and save to your shared E‑Z Schedule data folder on your network.
  2. Before you install E-Z Schedule on your first workstation, it is important to make sure that you have a backup of your data.  If this is an upgrade, make sure that all users are logged out of E‑Z Schedule as the install procedure will modify your databases.  This cannot happen while others are accessing the system.
  3. If this is an upgrade, delete all E‑Z Schedule shortcut Icons on your desktop.
  4. From your workstation, navigate to and double-click the installer (EZSV2SetUp.exe) that you downloaded to your shared data folder.
  5. Go through the normal installation, installing to (and overwriting if prompted) C:\Program Files\E‑Z Schedule.
  6. Start E‑Z Schedule by clicking the new icon that has been placed on your desktop while noting the location of this icon.
  7. You may a message indicating that your registration file is invalid.  Ignore this message. It is normal at this time.
  8. You may be asked to configure E‑Z Schedule.  Ignore this dialog and cancel.
  9. If the Daily View is open, and you can see the new E‑Z Schedule Icon on your desktop, it is a good idea to delete it now.
  10. E‑Z Schedule Version 2 is installed on your local workstation at this point.  Now, let's connect the local installation to the shared databases:
  11.  Look for this administrator icon on the button bar of any E‑Z Schedule screen: []
  12. Right click this icon and select the last entry on the context menu: Create Desktop Shortcut to Shared E‑Z Schedule Data.
  13. A file dialog will open.  Navigate your network to the E‑Z Schedule shared data folder.  A few folder and a single file, EZSched will appear in the dialog window.  Now click Open.
  14. E‑Z Schedule will close and a new icon will appear on your desktop.  This icon connects your local workstation installation with the shared data. (If you are running Vista or Windows 7, you may need to Disable User Account Control if you haven't done so already. You'll thank us for this!)
  15. Delete any old shortcuts from your desktop (see step 6).

Registering E‑Z Schedule Version 2

There is one registration submission for all workstations at your workplace. Once you have registered, you need not register other workstations.  You may be prompted by your security firewall for instructions on allowing E‑Z Schedule permission to access the Internet.  All registration and program updates are handled via the Internet, so make sure you grant E‑Z Schedule send and receive rights.

  1. Click Help, then Registration, then Submit Registration Information.
  2. Fill in your registration data making sure that you use the telephone number that is configured in your E‑Z Schedule settings.
  3. Submit the information.  You will be transferred to our web page where you should receive an acknowledgement that your data has been received.
  4. E‑Z Schedule will now begin polling our website for your license file.  You will receive an acknowledgement that the license has been downloaded and verified.  You can check your license status or look for license updates at any time by clicking Help/Registration.
Your E‑Z Schedule installation is complete!  For all other stations in your workplace, perform steps 3 through 14. If you have any questions or you have trouble with the registration process, please call E‑Z Schedule Technical Support at 212-709-8300.

An Important Note for Peer-to-Peer Network Installations

Make sure that your server workstation does NOT go into hibernation after long periods of inactivity. Power options (under display screensaver properties) should be configured such that the hard drive NEVER powers down. Should the drive serving E-Z Schedule's network files power down, remote users will experience program failures.
